NB 8

NB 8 holds a lot of promise, but I have to say that on my system, it is
very buggy.
One very big problem is that (only in this program) the alt key gets stuck
in the "down" position, and it's difficult to get it released. You can
imagine the havoc that can wreak--running macros when you think you are
entering plain keystrokes.
Despite having set Tools/Preferences to bring up a blank page when the last
window is ABorted, it doesn't, except on startup. When I abort the only
open file, things go a little haywire: the cursor disappears and BC doesn't
work. Following someone's suggestion here, hitting F9 then does put the
cursor on the CM line, but then it goes into a state where hitting regular
alpha keys causes it to crash, with a General Protection Fault, and NB
closed--but without killing the process NTVDM, which I do by hand with Task
Manager (via ctrl-alt-del).

More later.
