footnotes and endnotes



I quite agree!

Not an editor here, but consumer of scholarly books:

If the references are in endnotes at the back anyway, so that I have
to go back there and find them, why make me look backwards through the
endnotes to find previous references to a book when author-date
references to a single list of references makes the task easier?
