I don't have a manual handy, but I think you're right about not
being able to resize the segments. Default P., which controls how
the path statement is truncated, doesn't address the issue either.
Of course, using XPL to display the current prompt is a trivial
matter. I suppose the idiomatic way to do it in Windows would be
with a dialog box, something like this (with XYWWWEB.U2 installed,
command DECODE to decode):

XPLeNCODE v2.0
b-gin [UNTITLED]
{{KCurrPath}} Show current path in a dialog box[cr|lf]1{tab}1
{tab}18{tab}6{tab}44{tab}5{tab}Current Path[cr|lf]tx{tab}{tab
}2{tab}1{tab}41{tab}1{tab}{<}VA$PA{>}[cr|lf]dp*{tab}1{tab}15{
tab}+2{tab}12{tab}1{tab}OK[cr|lf]{2}{2}[cr|lf][cr|lf]
-nd
XPLeNCODE

Whatever the mode of display, you'd still have to assign the code to
a key and hit the key to see the full path -- a pain. Yet another
reminder of our expulsion from Eden (as if we needed one).
