When I paste something from the net or a Windows application into
a new file in XY4, the file immediately gets named: R$TCLPOO.TVC
This poses no problem other than it is not a name that I would
choose.
Really? I named two pets and a boat that.
However, if I block the passage off, copy it to the
clipboard, then abandon the file, and open a new file, and
paste, exerything is back to normal.
By "back to normal" I assume you mean the file is still named [UNTITLED]?
My question is: What is
happening here? Can I return to what I have come to expect,
namely, have the initial paste take, and leave the file name
pending till I decide to save?
I have never seen anything change the name of a Xy file. Sounds like
something's definitely amiss.
I don't recall this happening
in the past, though I've been living with this for a little while.
