Re: XY, Vista, choices

I'll email D. Thomas to find out whether old iterations of TAME will work under Vista and report back. Again, many thanks for time.
According to Ed Mandelson's WP5 site, some version must, because
after warning every WP5 user not to touch Vssta with a bargepole,
he says that if they're so ill-advised or unfortunate as to try,
they'll have to use Tame (version unspecified), because WP5
crawls on Vista.
But--if my experience (and we certainly need more data) is
typical, and jerky cursor is not evident on Xy windowed under
Vista, why would one need Tame? From all I have seen here, it's a
cure worse than the disease and more trouble than it's worth.
When I last asked (sometime before I got my own Vista PC in Oct.
07), Kinko's was not running Vista. Does anyone know of any
public access sites that do? Anyone have a friend, colleague,
relative, client who is? Because it would be a great help if
anyone who did would create a portable Xy setup on a flash drive
and test. ASFAIK, Robert is the only other person on this list
with Vista, and he's using that box as a server--and anyway runs
full-screen, where jerky cursor isn't an issue. Thinking as I do
that hardware affects the whole jerky cursor issue, I'm certainly
not going to take one box's results as definitive.
