Sorry, sorry, sorry. I looked through U2 and the .inf file, and am now
clear that DT is the DEFAULT and $DT the current (and have noted that in
the CG so I shan't forget). But I still get an error message if I try to
reference $DT=0, so I'm still doing something wrong.
