First, you'll need to cast it as a U2 frame (I didn't, yesterday)
and give it a name. Let's call it Edwin:

XPLeNCODE v2.0
b-gin [UNTITLED]
{{;5edwin}} Edit current file or DF block in a Windows text e
ditor [CLD][cr|lf]{002};*;    Adjust path to NOTEPAD.EXE (
or your editor of choice) below![cr|lf][XH_][BX_]es 1[Q2_]{<}
SX01,{<}VADR{>}+"XYOUT.TXT"{>}[DZ_][BX_]sa{<}IF{<}VA$DE{>}>0{
>}d{<}EI{>}/nv {<}PV01{>}[Q2_]{<}IF{<}ER{>}{>}{<}PRError writ
ing text file{>}{<}EX{>}{<}EI{>}[BX_]wait[Q2_];*;[cr|lf][BX_]
dos/nv/x/z /c c:\winnt\system32\notepad.exe {<}PV01{>}[Q2_]{0
02}[cr|lf][cr|lf]
-nd
XPLeNCODE

After you've DECODEd the above and edited the path to Notepad.exe,
simply DeFine the entire frame and issue ADD2U2. That's
all there is to it.

You're thinking of LOADHELP (or LH). Use LH to edit an existing U2
frame, ADD2U2 to add a new frame. Note that, with LH, the U2 file
must be in the current window when you issue the command. With
ADD2U2, the current window has the file with the (DeFined) frame to
be added to U2.

Not the Registry. The way to "document" your personal frames is to
group them together within U2. In this respect, ADD2U2 is also an
organizing tool, because if you use it consistently to add new
frames, they'll automatically be grouped together near the top of
the file. (The next release of U2 will include an option,
ADD2U2/BF, to add frames at the bottom of the file.)

When you upgrade to a new version of U2, CoPy the entire group of
personal frames, as a single block, over to the new XYWWWEB.U2.
Then issue LH. Your personal programming will be
preserved.
