..... {BX}(se .{A}.){Q2} works, {BX}se .{A}.{Q2} doesn't.

Well, I was wrong: the latter does work (it will find the next alphabetic
character). But some BX-Q2 routines do require (...), and I'm hoping some
guru will post a message defining what those routines are.
