"It must be important to have, though, because I
see a lot of software that comes with different installation
instructions for Win95 OSR2 vs. the original version."

The difference in installation instructions is mostly a difference in the dialog boxes that are
displayed during the installation wizard. OSR means something like "OEM Service Release";
that means that OSR2 is available mostly on new machines bought from vendors that install Win95 at
the factory. I'm sure there are kludges to install most of the OSR2 enhancements on an older
machine. If you have a computer bought new within the past couple of years and it has Win95, it most
likely already has OSR2. (A later version of OSR2 supposedly supports USB, but that's generally a
joke. If you want USB, you've generally gotta have Win98.)

As for voice recognition, Dragon seems to have the top-rated one, but you have to be careful to
match the hardware requirements, which are fairly stringent. These involve processor speed, RAM, and
soundcard. See www.dragonsys.com.
