XyWrite not working any more! System file problem?

We have an independent contractor who had XyWrite (ver. 3.58b) installed 
on her home computer several years ago.  Until six months ago, when she 
last worked for us, it was working fine.  She recently tried to use the 
application, only to receive the following error message:
"The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft 
Windows applications."   
She is running Windows XP under SP2 on some Dell pc.   Does 
anyone have any suggestions as to what will get XyWrite to work?   I 
had her rename the XyWrite directory on her desktop and install 
another copy of XyWrite that we know works.  However, she received 
the same error message.
