NTFS or FAT

Y'all,

Does anyone have experience of running XY on NTFS partitions? Are there
size limitations, user privilege issues, visibility to/from other
partitions, etc.?

For reasons I won't go into, I am forced to abandon a w2k machine which
had been running XY on a FAT32 partition in favor (if that is the right
word here) of a slightly newer XP system which has only NTFS partitions.
FAT can be converted by NTFS, but not v.v. (so far as I know). So I'm
trying to look before leaping, in order, if possible, to avoid trouble
later on.
