Re: Jumbo U2 news

Carl,

These sounds like terrific meta-level improvements.

Thanks!

Regards,
Harry

The Jumbo U2 has a new ZIP filename and download URL. U2 users probably know that the ZIP filename has been based on the U2 version number, e.g. XYWEB125.ZIP. Now, the filename is simply XYWWEBU2.ZIP; it will not change, and it will always contain the latest updates. As a result, the direct download URL will also never change, and you can download the latest U2 anytime from: http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/XYWWEBU2.ZIP XYWWEBU2.ZIP contains only the essential U2 files: readme-u2.pdf, XYWWWEB.U2, XYWWWEB.INF, XYWWEBU2.REG (renamed from XYWEB[ver].REG), REG-READ.ME, and changelog.pdf. The external Windows and DOS programs used by U2 routines are now collected in a separate ZIP archive, U2EXTRAS.ZIP, which will be updated as necessary from time to time. The new extras archive also has a static direct-download URL: http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/U2EXTRAS.ZIP Version numbers will no longer be used, and updates will be identified by the YYYY-MM-DD release date, the current one being 2016-11-06. The latest revisions are described in the changelog: http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/changelog.pdf The latest release has new frames U2UPD, to update to the latest U2 release, and SETPORT, implementing Wengier's new SETPORT command. Command DX SETPORT/? to view usage details. Enjoy! -- Carl Distefano cld@xxxxxxxx
