Footnote reference numbers

I am typesetting a job with footnotes, and am using Xy4 (almost the first
time) because it allows me fractional point sizes (in PostScript).

Query: How do I control the size of the footnote reference numbers? In good
old Xy3 I could specify the font and size for MD SU in a given PT; I can't
see the analog in Xy4.

Can someone set me straight?
