Re: NEW TTG BBS

Jeff,

Thanks for starting the TTG BBS at 410-576-8806 and for opening it to
all users.

I had the following connecting experiences last night to the TTG
BBS:

Procomm Win	14.4	failed to go beyond connect signal
	Procomm DOS	9600	same
	Procomm Dos	2400	same
Kermit 3.13	9600	success in login & browse, download failed

I'm unable to say what the differences were, but these combinations are
generally successful in other logins. The failures elicited the connect signal
but gave a frozen screen. Ironically, this version of Kermit, which I have
just recently added and have not fully debugged was the only one of the tests
to have any success. All the Procomm tests were on a US Robotics Sportster
14.4 internal on COM3. The Kermit test was on a comparable external Sportster
on COM2. (Kermit has trouble recognizing IRQ5 with COM3.) I normally use 8N1.

I was not prepared for the questionnaire upon logging in, and may have
hit the Enter key too often, leaving me with non-stop scrolls until I figured
out how to chang emy profile. It might be useful to post the questions and the
defaults or sugggested alternate reponses to this list.

If someone more technical than I could post suggestions they would be
welcome.
