TYF IN XPL PROGRAM

I'm using TYF in an XPL program to enter some typesetting codes. Problem is
TYF returns control to user before target file is closed. So doing a directory
immediately reveals a file with 0 bytes. Waiting 10 or 15 seconds until the
file is closed isn't a very elegant solution. Any ideas on how to insert a
pause at the end of my program?
