RE: Conversion problem, ...URGENT

>I am wondering why the publisher could not have made the conversion

FWIW, as a publishing employee myself, I was wondering that, too (We allow our authors to send in
material in whatever format they want). But since I didn't have any practical help to offer, I
figured I'd better just shut up. Glad you got the problem solved.

This is just an up-date to let you know that Carl's little programme beloww
orked like magic. At first I thought that I had lost all of my indexing since
I could not see any markers in MSWord indicating indexing. But I was
wrong. All of my indexing, and there was a great deal of it, was there.

So it seems that for large XY4 files with lots of italics, indexing, and the usual
code, the W4W files work very well. I could not be more delighted, and I
am wondering why the publisher could not have made the conversion,
...so easy was it, ...after help from the list, of course. As always, many
many thanks to everyone who helped.

DECODE the following frame and CoPy it into the Jumbo U2. (Use
LH to SAve and reLOAD U2.) With your XyWrite file in the
current window, issue SA/RTF. When prompted, enter a
filename using the .RTF extension. Then open the .RTF file in Word.

This frame may not work with very big files (because it "shells" to
a secondary copy of DOS on top of the one already running and
therefore has limited memory to work with). But it's handy for
"normal-sized" files. In a pinch, worth a try.
