Well, the problem self-solved. Once the ghost copy was over, the
missing control key functionality returned. I tried to replicate the
problem by invoking Ghost again, but that didn't do it - - I'll see
what happens the next time I do a full hard drive copy. It's a small
price to pay for being able to make that kind of low level copy while
working normally, if nervously, in several other programs.
