Re: Slow performing xywrite

The weird thing about this problem is this

Recently the IT dept upgraded all of the users PCs from 64MB to 128Mb Ram.
The problem has been encountered much more frequently since then.
They have also upgraded their anti virus software which I doubt would also
cause probs.

Another thing that might affect it, is that some of the programs that they
run are located on network drives, but the slowness occurs without them
even trying to access these programs, so I think we could rule that out.

Any reason why an increase in available memory would cause Xy to slow??

Cheers
Owen

I've seen this with XY4.18 DOS on Windows 2000. So far as I can tell, some
of
the display settings for things like window colors, etc. in the menus take
over
the DOS session's memory and cause everything in XY to run very, very slow.
In
at least some instances, the problem seems to be specific to particular
video
hardware. Quitting Xy and reloading it always cures the problem, at least
for
awhile.
