Re: Vdos automatically converts to/from Win Ansi

This is very nice compared to a VirtualPC 2007/DOS-Win3.1 setup where
there is no clipboard support. To overcome the limitations discussed
here the easiest method as far as I am concerned is using EditPad (Lite
or Pro). Just define an ASCII file type in EditPad and associate it with
EditPad, then you have access to the same file as in XyWrite. EditPad
keeps automatically track of the changes you make in XyWrite if you
check 'Preferences, Open Files, Automatically reload the active file if
it was modified on disk'. When adding e.g. browser contents, paste it
into Editpad, save, and AB, CA in XyWrite. No limitations!

It is indeed a convenience. One thing I've noticed, though, is that you can't paste more than about 9KB into XyWrite using this method. For larger blocks, you need to save the clipboard to a file, then MErge the file into Xy (e.g., VCLIP). I have the latter method assigned to Ctrl-V (in addition to vDos's Winkey-Ctrl-V), so it's no big deal.
