NotaBene S/G usage vs. U2

I am using the .AUX files with NotaBene (Robert's Xy-ization of NB
eliminates them, but I want some of their functionality). They use S/Gs in
the 80s and 90s, and I already had a conflict with one U2 frame for that
reason.
I tried put JM 2.HIDE:80-99 into the frame, but that didn't help. I wonder
if I could put them at the top of the .AUX files (which are basically XPL),
or if there's a better solution.
