Thanks, Ted. I grew up with Atex at The Old Gray Lady -- those great old
terminals, that glowing green screen, editors standing at your back tapping
a foot impatiently as the clocked clicked toward deadline. And it was there
I became a XyWriter too, hooked, literally, on software that seemed always
to match its shape to the ceaseless contortions of composition.
