The funny part of this latest "who killed OS/2" inquiry (an absorbing article
nonetheless) is that four days ago, IBM issued Fixpack 16 for v4 "Warp", a month
ago they issued the second Convenience Pack, which is in reality a new version
("Merlin") of the OpSys, and last night they updated the kernel -- yet again
(new kernels come out every few days, an amazing attentiveness to bug repair and
wreaking every possible tweak). It ain't dead yet, nor -- with all the
retooling going on, for mainframes especially -- is it likely to die soon.
