NB 10 on Mac with Crossover

I just installed NB 10 on the Macbook Pro (from 2009, Intel Core 2 Duo at
2.53 GHz, 8G Ram, 64 bits) under Crossover. I installed a fresh download of
the latest beta from notabene.com. The install succeeded, but the result
was unusable. The issue is speed: it ran so slow that it took half a second
to register letters that were typed into a blank new document.
Is it just my system? Has anyone else tried this?
