conversion help needed

Hi all, I haven't done any conversion since Adobe sent me a CD
containing the Adobe File Utilities 1.0 around 1996. This was
Mastersoft's WordforWord, which they had just acquired and updated to
include Win95 support, as well as then-contemporary Unix, DOS, and
Mac versions. I must have it in storage somewhere, but it is
thousands of miles away. I don't know for sure whether it would work
with Windows, but I bet at the very least it would work in W2K. There
is not a trace of this software on the Web. Evidently, it was not
very widely distributed, and it was soon discontinued. Apparently the
main difference between Adobe File Utilities and the last version of
Word for Word was that there was long file name support.
This is a long way of saying I desperately need some conversion help.
I'd like to be able to convert from Xy4 to RTF, I think, assuming
that RTF is the best format for sending someone an MS-Word-compatible
document.

Ah. Dun it.
But I am still unsure how to access the Xy4 menu system. I had
thought the way to do it was to press both Alt keys, but this
sometimes doesn't work. Can a command-line command be issued to
access the drop down menu system? From there on, I found I was OK - -
simply choose Save-As, and various format conversion choices are offered.

OK - - some other questions: are there more up-to-date converters available?
And also I remember, years ago, there were many notes on this list
about improved dictionaries from IBM that were available. Are these
still available? I never downloaded these, stupidly. When in doubt, download.
