Perhaps some of you will know: Are “italic” fixed-width fonts always “regular” fonts that have been slanted rather than redrawn? (Look at lower case “a”.) This morning I noticed that the fixed width fonts I have on my Mac all have italic “a” that is simply a regular “a” slanted to the right rather than redrawn as a slanted, closed, more cursive-like character. Most proportional typefaces have the redrawn “a”. Myron
