Thanks everyone. I tried the TurboZip, and it choked on the ZIPs I had
just downloaded. (I was trying to avoid installing something that
wouldn't work and then uninstalling, because one of the things Windoesn't
does worst is uninstall: always leaves bits and pieces around afterwards,
in the Registry if nowhere else. Of course, I could and did back up the
Registry, then delete the new ones and restore the old, but what a
tedious procedure!)
Robert, I did go to the Info-Zip site (useful to have something that
exists in Linux too, for future migration), but it sent me to an ftp site
and I'm not sure if I downloaded all the files I need. I have
zip23x.zip
unz542x3.exe
unz542x.exe
I'm perfectly comfortable at the command line IF I know what command to
issue, and I didnt find (but perhaps didn't look deeply enough)
instructions on installing. Which of these files do I run first? Just
give me directions to the Web page if it's there and I missed it, and
thanks again.
