Simple, maybe.
I know of no way to change the default so that a save (or
store) command, without specifying a directory destination, will save your
current file to any drive other than the drive it started in.
However, at any time, you can change your
default drive. For example, F5 CD E:\alpha F9.
That would make E:\alpha your default drive even if the file
you are currently using came from somewhere in the C: drive. Now if you
save or store to E:, your text will end up
with its current name in the alpha directory on E:. Likewise, if you use a
copy command, the default destination will be E:\alpha.
And if you go to a new window and use the DIRectory command,
you will get the E:\alpha file listing.

Subject: Setting default save
directory
Xylisters,
Here is a mind-numbingly simple question that
I hope can be easily answered:
How does one set/change the default save
directory in XyDos III+? Simply typing SAVE/STORE and the desired filename
saves in the Xy program directory on the default drive. I would like to change
that default directory so that saved files and program files are in separate
folders on the same drive.
Thanks
much!
