The most nimble solution is, of course, VirtualPC 2007 with DOS additions from VPC 2004 and MS-DOS and Win 3.1x for DOS box windowing support.

For nimbleness, I don't think you can beat Win 7 32-bit. No separation between Xy and all the other features of Win 7. It does mean limiting oneself to 2 to 3 Gigs of Ram. So far, that hasn't been a problem for me, even when using InDesign. But I don't use Photoshop.

BTW, Anne Putnam at NotaBene says NB 10 will run on the 32-bit Win 7.
