Thanks for that report. I was wondering what the best
version to get was, whether it was the last
pre-MS-buyout version, and whether one had to resort
to eBay to get it. You have already answered a number
of other questions.

There is no Open Office for the Mac ? OO is available
for eCS and for Linux, I believe, and almost certainly
for Win. It used to be free -- for some platforms --
but now seems to have a lower shareware-level cost. I
find it to be pretty good, with Word and Excell
workalike modules among others, and the ability to
import / export / convert the common file formats.
