Re: Installing XyWrite 4

As a followup to Nathan Sivin's advice to start with a "clean boot",
perhaps the following is relevant. I do not use Windows 95 myself
but OS/2 (runs DOS programs perfectly), but I did assist a colleague
in installing another sometimes troublesome DOS program on a Windows
95 machine, NotaBene 4.5. The advice given by the NotaBene folks is
indeed to start with a clean boot -- i.e., access the ShutDown
procedure and then, instead of actually shutting the machine down,
choose the DOS boot option. After that, the installation proceeded
without a hitch. I have not tried this with XYDOS, but it ought to
work, it seems to me.
Hope this helps,
Bill
