Dr. J: Actually I 'have' cut back my logging on while I'm abroad. I
call in only once-a-day.  (I'm taking the week+ R&R in Italy so
there's phone contact. There won't be per se once I go to Giza save for
trips to the production offices in Cairo.) Anyway, a publication I
highly recommend is INFORMATION TODAY which caters to text/data
storage/retrieval at very large levels (library, etc.) as well as
individual needs and is heavy in the CD ROM discussions, products, this,
that, etc. It's a newsprint monthly chock full of info in this area as
well as news stories, anecdotes, reviews, et cetera. Interesting
reading for text junkies, multimedia, storage/retrieval, extensive
discussion on using online databases, and the like.

they still have copies, for the April issue. It has an extended CD ROM
coverage.
