Of course, 10 minutes after posting my puzzlement about why the three-byte
sequence hex FF 32 45 would display as a comma, I realized that that *is* the
three-byte version of a comma: FF 32 45 reads as [space]2E, which is itself
hex for ASCII 46, a comma. But *why* a coversion from Word, Word Perfect, or
anything to a *.txt file comes in as a three-byte comma in Xy 3.55 is a
mystery to me.
