I was searching through my local archive for information on ANSI and
Speedo characters and then was looking at the XyWWeb docs, and I found:
"ACCENTS.PRN, ACCENTS.SPD, or/and ACCENTS.TTF must be loaded
Xy4-DOS: Locate ACCENTS.PRN in the same directory as ®VA$ED¯
XyWin: Install ACCENTS.SPD|TTF; see instructions in those files
XyWin: If you wish to "(S)ee accents" when running ACCENTS,
ACCENTS.PRN must also be located in the same directory
as ®VA$ED¯, even if you won't otherwise use it"
Well, I don't seem to have ACCENTS.PRN, .SPD, or .TTF on my system. Were
they supposed to have been downloaded with U2? The Accents program would
be very useful on my laptop, where I have to go through a tedious
rigamarole to get (and then get rid of) the number pad overlay to enter
high-order chars directly with their numbers (besides having to keep a
list at hand). Thanks.
