Yes, you can set the network options you want during install. However, the
learnig curve on linux is steep enough that you may wish to do a farily
traditional install initially and avoid any "customization" at the
beginning.

the DOSEMU emulator is pretty solid and the performance penalty is not too
severe. Having said that, if your primary aim is to continue to have use of
dos-based programs, you might be better off using a multi-os boot loader
such as System Commander and having a separate DOS installl. I have a
multi-os system and I use an MS-DOS set-up most of the time to run Xy3,
Grandview, Javelin etc. under Desqview.Of course, you may have distinct
issues that preclude this approach.
