Actually, for ASCII 128-256, the code you listed below are straight IBM
ASCII, a version different from the ANSI Windows and ANSI Macintosh sets
now more familiar to most computer users. Before Windows and Mac OS, the
IBM set was the most commonly used character set. (No digression to
EBCDIC and other mainframe horror stories...)
