Carl,
Thanks. Check your Message Box messages, too, for references to vDosSet.
I'm afraid the whole VDL thing has gotten a little too baroque for my tiny
brain. Is there some one place I can find instructions, because I'm having
difficulty with the ones in VDL.Bat? I know you have posted the new .INF
file somewhere, but I can't find the reference to it in my email.
My difficulty:
I have added an :hb alias that says:
:: Aliases
:hb
set VDLargs=/cfg /set title=xxx
exit /b
but doing VDL.BAT hb
brings up a version with the old title.
Then I tried:
:: Aliases
:hb
set AliasArgs=title=xxx
exit /b
Then I tried:
:: Aliases
:hb
set AliasArgs title=xxx
exit /b
Then I tried:
:: Aliases
:hb
set AliasArgs set title=xxx
exit /b
Then I started getting the PRompt "DOS error" and it looks like some of the
above didn't "take" in VDL.BAT.
Side issue: VDL.BAT keeps toggling my cursor to overwrite mode.
Confusedly,
Harry
Harry,
I get the PRompt: "Missing: c:\dropbox\vdos-lfn" even though I'm
logged into that very directory.
The PRompt was misleading -- my bad. It should have said "Missing:
c:\dropbox\vdos-lfn\VDL.BAT". I've fixed this in the encoded frame
VDL,VDL/ below and in the downloads:
http://users.datarealm.com/ammaze/xy/VDL.ZIP
http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/XYWEB123.ZIP
http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/U2VER123.ZIP
So, please install the corrected frame VDL,VDL/ and download VDL.ZIP
and unzip VDL.BAT into your vDos-lfn directory. Note that the aliases
in VDL.BAT are examples from my setup. You will need to roll your own
to take full advantage of VDL.BAT (instructions are in VDL.BAT). But
even without aliases, you can still do things like:
VDL /cfg config.new /set title=Xy-New; frame=on
Here's frame VDL,VDL/:
