All you have to do is open the file in expanded mode and change the
column styles so they will work within the page size. Normally this
has to be done by trial and error, resetting the page dimensions,
tabs, etc., as well as the styles.

On the other hand, you might want to recommend to Prof. Boos that, if
the files are to be printed on a laser printer, she can considerably
increase the quality of the published version by printing the files at
full page size (8.5" wide by whatever length the proportions demand)
and having the printer reduce the camera copy. This will of course
also mean lots less trial and error.
