I can't read the rest of your message; but the way to change the
ScreenLength and the ScreenWidth is with VAriables SL and SW. So if,
instead of the default 25 lines on screen, you want 34 lines, command:
d sl=34
But this in itself may not be enough. Make sure first that you have 34
line in plain DOS. You may need the MODE command to do that, or some
otherr piece of software. Point is, the system has to be able to
deliver 34 or 36 or 44 or 50 or 60 lines. XyWrite will readily follow,
if the system is set-up properly.
Note lastly that the XyWrite default is 25 lines, and that a change to
VAriable SL (or SW) only takes effect on screens opened subsequent to
issuing the new SL or SW. That means that the initial screen (#1) will
always be 25 lines. You need to open a different window
number (it should open at the larger size), then go back and ABort and
remove window #1. Next time you re-open window #1 it will be at the new
size. I'm talking Xy4-DOS v4.017 here.
