You have to set default NW to 1, and then restore the original
setting at the end. A New Window value of 1 (or 4) opens a new
window when a file is CAlled from a directory listing, keeping the
directory in the alternate screen. See my markup of your code
snippet. Note that CA/100 opens the file in eXPanded view
(regardless of the default Display Type), eliminating the need for
func XP after the CAll command.
