OK, ok. Lets get to it.

Would someone please notice who you are replying too.

The Xy-list has had several people posting in the past weeks who
are not members of the list, that is they don't read the
replies, and yet Ken Frank and some others reply to the list.

And it also seems that Dr. Sivin has not been sending out the
welcome message to new members. I estimate, when he looks at the
list, that from Wallen down (Did you get your printer problem
solved, Dr. Allen?) have not gotten the 600 line (I exaggerate)
greeting from Sivin.
It is nice that Dr. Sivin runs an open list in that you don't
need to be a member to post to it. But when some readers don't
check the headers and just hit "R)eply" buttons, it comes back to
the list only and the plaintive calls for help remain unanswered.

Perhaps it is is time to send out the standard greeting to
everyone on the list. A second message emphasizing to old
veterans that there exist archives of and about this list
[ Warning: 22 line limit reached ] on the CCAT, and that these
are not official TTG files would be useful.
October seems a good time, as the Northern hemisphere is just
getting back to work, and the Ockers haven't gone on holiday yet.
 The hundreds of "pakers" in Japan and the U.S. could use a
frosty reminder also.

Mr. Frank, who unfortunately is using some Spry
Windows software to read this mail which may not let him look at
the headers, should get the list, make a note of who in the past
year were not members by reading the posting- archives, and put
out direct replies, if he wants, from the official TTG company,
not responsible for the list. As you can see by Mr. Kretschmer's
25 September message, there still are users who think this
listserve is official.

And if the Technology Group is using this list for occasional
service, could they please post the answers to questions here
back to the list. In the copy, they could assure us as they
post to the list that the answer was also sent direct to the
questioner ?
