If this is irrelevant, please disregard, but I thought it might help: I
was playing around with TABLE ACCENTS and noticed a few cases where the
character displayed didn't match the character named. Wondering if I had
the right codepage loaded, and being too lazy to reach for the manual or
search the archive, I tried
VA/NV cp
No response, so I tried
VA/NV $CP
Answer came back 437.
But then I thought, No, I know I loaded CP 850 after we had the last
informative discussion of character values. So I SEarched my EDITOR.EXE
dir for anything with =850, and my defaults file came up. Seeing that
there it followed LA, I tried
VA/NV LA
Answer came back 850.
So apparently VA $CP and VA LA can be different. Does that help at all?
I do have a USB printer, though a rather old PC (AMD K6-2). Will check
control panel and MEM and see where the USB driver is loaded.
