Y'all,

The comment that 'he knocked on the green big door' implies that there
are two big doors, only one of which is green, is correct, but misses
the point of the original question. The same would apply equally to 'he
knocked on the big green door,' namely that there are two green doors,
only one of which is big.

We are still left wondering why, if there is only one door, the natural
word order is 'big green' and not 'green big'.
