Problem with graphics view...?

Problem: For some reason that I don't understand, I cannot go into
graphics view. When I press Shift F8, I get the message "No screen
fonts. Cannot go into graphics view." This is only since late yesterday.
I made no changes either to the STARTUP file or the SETTINGS
file. I operate XY4 from within a XP window. The only thing that
I can think of that may have brought this on is that for some reason
that I don't quite understand, I had to exit XY4 yesterday by pressing
the small X (the XPclose window icon) on the upper right side of the
screen because XY4 was completely locked up. This has happened a
few times lately, but never with this result. So, my question is: How
do I correct this problem and gain access to the graphics mode again,
since I know that the screen fonts are very much there in their directory?
So, it is not a problem of missing screen fonts.
