Perhaps I'm missing some subtlety in the question, but the easy way to cut
and paste smaller amounts of text to and from Xy is to hit alt-Enter to
produce a windows-sized screen, and use the clipboard icon that is at the
top of the Xy window (forget right-clicking on the taskbar).
You use a mouse to select (windows-style) as much as a screenfull of text,
then click on the "copy" icon and you've copied it to the windows clipboard.
Pasting to Xy is the inverse: select the text from, say, Word, copy it,
then go into Xy and hit the paste icon (which looks like a clipboard)--and
it flows right into Xy.
The only tricky thing is that you have to use the icons--can't use
control-keys to do it.
