Dear David

Thanks. That feedback is very useful.

XyWriters,

I use XyWin for all document prep in my law office and thank the
developers of OTVDM for their work to make it possible to use it in
Win10 outside of virtual box and XP, with it's possible security
issues. I still support development of XYWIN 5.0 if that's the name,
but now it's not so critical for me. I do use the speller and the
document assembly feature (a lot). I have not found a "modern" app that
does doc assembly as easily as XyWin, and in a law office we do a lot of
that. We don't do books, etc., so I realize that mine is probably a
niche use.

Thanks again to all for supporting XyWrite in all forms!

Dear Kari and XyWin users

Is this the general perception of XYWin, that it is too buggy to be
useful?

I currently use Notabene 9 in a virtual machine for some projects
where I am working with a lot of tables because I find the tables
easier to created and manage with the windows program. However it
would be much more convenient not to have to use the virtual machine. I
have been trying to work with the OTVDM developers to get NB9
running in Windows 7 64 bit but we are not there yet. XYWin would
offer and alternative which I will consider if the work with NB9 fails
but any feedback from other users would be valuable.

On the matter of XyWin, it is a transitional program and not really an
option for real work. As a whole, I consider XyWin a beta. It has
numerous bugs and other deficiences that contemporary DOS versions do
not have.
