Edward,For me, the difficulty of customization was a non-starter, e.g. you cannot change screen modes assigned to MDNM, MDBO, etc. freely, instead the program has a set of acceptable values, others are bluntly rejected. Actually, the system writes screen color values into the EXE, so there is a workaround if you want to fiddle modifying the EXE with a hex editor. This kind of thing was really annoying. If you like everything as it comes out of the box, then maybe you can find it usable. NB4 is a different beast, while NB3 is totally adaptable, NB4 is not, far from it.

Kari, At the risk of wasting your time, I wonder if you could say more about why NB4 was ’almost unusable’? I still have an NB 4.5 setup on my disk. I don’t have NB 3 installed, but would be interested in looking at it again after reading your comments. Again, I don’t want to waste your time, so please feel free to ignore this.
