I deal with the issue by ignoring it: when necessary, I toggle into eXPanded view, where an
Ascii-126 is just another character. But I like your solution much better, and I'm going to adopt
it. As a relic of the punchcard era, Ascii-127 is a fine candidate for the discretionary hyphen
character. I mean, I'm something of a relic myself, and I've never, ever used it for anything --
until now. Thanks!
