Re: XyWrite 4 under macOS

Myron,
It is indeed outstanding. The W4W system is under 'File, Batch Convert'. There is also a 'Save As' option to save as RTF CP850.
You can modify the keyboard file with editor.exe or by using my XyWrite
Keyboard Documentor (which consists of two command-line Windows
programs: KBD2KT.EXE and KT2KBD.EXE, read the KBD2KT.TXT file in Xy
program folder for details). If it is not included in your setup,
download from https://www.lexitec.fi/xywrite/XY_keyboard_documentor.zip.

Scrolling is fast and smooth, page up and down is fast, as is searching. At this point Id say it feels faster and smoother than NB in its current macOS setting (which is not bad at all).

Ill see if I can find my modified keyboard file, or reconstruct it, and then see how well it functions for me as a word processor, or at the very least as a text editor.

There was a W4W RTF translator, wasnt there? I see W4W files in the Xy4 installation, but they dont appear in the File/Open menus. Its been decades since I fiddled around with the menu system.

Thanks to all who have helped keep Xy alive.
