As much as I am hardly a Windows fan, the same problem exists in spades with my Linux installs. Setting up a new laptop, for instance, can be a long process, and I too have scripts to do a least partly automated installs. My main system has 3,206 packages at present count. Many of these are system packages, of course, but assuring that I get a like-to-like install on a new system certainly requires scripting if I don't want to be spending weeks installing "forgotten" packages when something doesn't run. -- Bob Newell Honolulu, Hawai`i - Via GNU-Linux/Emacs/Gnus/BBDB
