I have it working now. I had a very hard time finding the Wincompose user interface. When I first ran wincompose.exe, I expected a GUI interface to open on the desktop, but no. Your user manual refers to a taskbar icon, but a Wincompose icon did not appear on my taskbar. Finally, after scratching my head for several hours, I thought to look in the system tray, the palette of tiny icons that pops up when you click on the "show hidden icons" caret in the taskbar. In the meantime, I was mystified why I could no longer Alt-Tab between windows. Google sent me down a rabbit hole of reasons why this might happen and how to fix it, but none mentioned Wincompose and the fact that it usurps the right-Alt key as its default "compose" key. I understand that Wincompose is well-regarded, but it sorely needs a simple quick-start instruction: "Launch the program and right-click on the Wincompose icon in the system tray." Otherwise, your instructions were helpful -- especially the direction to look for the .XCompose file in the %USERPROFILE% directory and replace it with yours. Anyway, your AccentCompose system looks very promising and I will look forward to exploring it! -- Carl Distefano cld@xxxxxxxxxx
